Sun O Tenino aka "Matlock"
In the fall of 1998, Zac and Matlock Rose were talking horses at the NCHA Futurity pre-work in Sweetwater when the subject of Stallions came up. Zac asked Matlock Rose which stallion he should breed to the Lazy Eight's Tenino San daughter. Matlock wanted to see the mare. As you may know, Matlock Rose has always been regarded as one of the best horsemen in the world. He has an uncanny ability to match the conformation and pedigree of two horses to come up with a superb colt. After a quail hunt and an inspection, Matlock Rose said, "breed that mare to Mr. Sun O Lena!" The result of that first mating was Sun O Tenino. Affectionately known as Matlock, Sun O Tenino has been used extensively in ranch operations since he was a 2-year old. Currently in training with Matlock Rose, Sun O Tenino has tremendous cow sense and athletic ability. Matlock Rose says that Sun O Tenino is the best Mr. Sun O Lena colt he has ridden. Currently a 4 year old, breedings to "Matlock" are being offered to the public. He is being campaigned in cutting, and he will be standing at McCulloch County Vet Clinic.
